Difficulties when accessing email via Citrix (from myusa-ux) #634

cc @adelevie and @kategarklavs I believe this is a front end/copy problem. |
People who access their email via Citrix can have problems with the "click the access link" step of sign-in. The email client is running remotely via Citrix. The browser is running locally. So clicking on the email link won't open a page in the locally running browser, and they often can't cut and paste the URL from the email to the browser for reasons we don't need to explore here. They can still sign in via MyUSA, but the process is very laborious. I don't know how many people this problem affects, though. |
What needs to happen? I'm not sure how common this problem will be, as I said. However, the "click the access link" interaction is central to the sign-in flow. Providing a happy human-readable URL in the body of the email seems like a reasonable way around it, but I'm not clued in enough about the technical dimensions to really speak knowledgeably about what could/should happen next. So I'm bringing it to the attention of @adelevie and @yozlet as a first step. |
@esgoodman Thanks for bringing this to my attention — I wasn't aware it was a problem. I'm also not clued in enough re: technical dimensions, but would be happy to have a quick chat with @yozlet @adelevie and you to get a better sense of what's going on. (Once I have a good grasp of the mechanics, I'll get started on new copy!) |
Moving 18F/myusa-ux#3 over here to give it more visibility.
