why are the first part of subtitles cut off #5

Can workaround by setting the MPV sub time to -300ms or -600ms or so, but why is this happening? As far as I can tell, the subs aren't the problem.

To be clear, what I mean is that the sped-up audio continues for 0.3-0.6seconds into the subtitle.

Try increasing the "reset_before" parameter to 0.6 or so.
