I'm modifying the scope of this issue away from PairPlots specifically to include all plotting.

Reasons:

  1. There is an intermittent problem with updates in FFMPEG causing problems with Plots https://discourse.julialang.org/t/problem-installing-plots-jl-a-ffmpeg-issue/28766/47 The "fix" is to pin to a version of FFMPEG but this is irritating.
  2. Makie ecosystem is now approximately as easy to use and (subjectively) gives nicer finish.
