Describe the bug
Installation process resets and/or disables all USB devices when installing to an USB external device (case with SSD). It seems that it disables USB plugged drives/devices when in the process of writing the new partition layout. It resets/stops USB on my system the keyboard (including the laptop's one), mouse and the USB case where the system would've been installed.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. plug a USB case with a SSD or HDD;
  2. Start the installation;
  3. Confirm to start it;
  4. See error

Expected behavior
To be able to install the system on a external drive/device (case, dock etc);

Could you try the testing ISO?

https://mirror.cachyos.org/ISO/testing

Anyways, I think its a kpmcore or calamares issue. Please also provide the complete fail log

I'll test it. For the log I'll have to figure out how to copy it. The track pad works when that happens, I just don't know for how long. It will probably allow me do copy the log file.

The installer asks you if you want to upload the log when it fails. Simply say yes when it asks and it will provide you with a link

Same thing happened. The trackpad kept working, so I could click on the log message.

With those settings it worked.

To be more clear: it successfully installs without encryption. Tried with both BTRFS and XFS.
