Hi @danielgindi.

After some digging I found this issue PhilJay/MPAndroidChart#5268, and wanted to ask about the future of DGCharts. As you are probably aware the EU accessibility act will come into effect in 28 June 2025 with significant financial penalties for companies that do not meet the accessibility requirements.

I have not looked into the state of accessibility support in DGCharts, but we're having internal discussions about whether to switch to native Swift Charts. One of the decision criteria is regarding the future maintenance of this repository. I see there has only been a handful of commits in the last year and since Philipp has walked away without indicating any clear successors for the Android version, it is only natural to ask the same questions about this repository.

Do you have any succession plans for this repository such as archiving it and taking ownership of an official fork?

Hi!
Philip has come back into contact with us, we have a separate discussion about that with the other maintainers.
Such efforts like supporting accessibility require us to spend a lot of time, and it seems like we have all become head of families since we started this, so time is not freely available.
We are looking for maintainers for both the Android and the iOS sides, and we are transitioning as you can see into an Org on github so it will depend less on us and more on the community.

We are considering whether to deprecate the iOS at some point- but that would have to be when Swift Charts is mature enough to replace this.

@danielgindi

Does 'Swift Charts' mean the Apple Library?

Interesting, and what's the output, except the "require us to spend a lot of time" ?
Currently it's zero time.
