Something along the lines of the xarray coordinate implementation
would provide a lot of features out of the box. But it would require
really understanding the way these work, especially when trying to
overload math operators the way these classes do. Also, these containers
currently allow any type of object to be stored, which is nice. Not sure
if you can put anything in a pd.Index.
