Checklist

  • I added a descriptive title.
  • I searched through existing issues and couldn't find a solution or duplicate issue.
  • I searched on the web (e.g. Google) and didn't find any helpful information.
  • I searched the Anaconda documentation and didn't find any helpful information.

Impacted product

  • A conda package (built by Anaconda)
  • Anaconda Distribution (formerly Anaconda Individual Edition)
  • Miniconda
  • Anaconda.org

What happened?

I initially tried to install Anaconda using the all-user installation location and received an error saying that the /opt/anaconda3 path location already existed so I entered (sudo rm -rf /opt/anaconda3) in my terminal window to ensure the path was removed and tried to install again but received a message that the installation failed. So I repeated the same /opt/anaconda3 removal process again and tried to install again this time choosing a folder on the disk but received the same installation error.
