After installation I didn't find any launcher in my application's list in Gnome. So I've made an icon and a launcher manually by creating a cardinal.desktop file into the /usr/share/applications folder. Is it must be? Or my installation has been done incorrectly (I used Synaptic in my Ubuntu & KXStudio repo)?

This is intentional.
The standalone is very barebones right now, and not considered to be a viable option for daily usage.
Focus of Cardinal is on the plugin stuff, the standalone is just a bonus. At the moment I do not want to focus any resources on it. Use it for testing, but anything besides that is unsupported atm.

Oh, so rapid response! Great thanks, falkTX! (& of coarse big thanks for Cardinal!!) Standalone is not so important - Yes, the plugin version is a power! 👍 ))
