We do have use cases where some funders are happy to accept plans created using other funder's templates but that can't be reflected in the plan metadata. E.g. choosing the template from the Swedish research council then doesn't allow you to add any information on the actual funder.
Potential quick fix is just to add an additional free text field to the plan metadata for (additional) funder that can be used in that case. This might also be useful to support DMPs as living documents as it's not unlikely that a project is supported from several grants throughout the life time.

Good question, I'm not sure what the reasoning behind #2920 is, but probably should be considered as one package. Could also just be that one funding status per funder/grant field will do the trick.
