Also, the ESMValTool Jupyter kernel at JupyterHub at DKRZ always takes the latest ESMValTool module available, which is now esmvaltool/2.7.0 For those interested in using the Tool with notebooks, you can have a look at:

Since today, there is a module for ESMValTool v2.8.0 on Levante. $ module avail esmvaltool
--- /sw/spack-levante/spack/modules ---
esmvaltool/2.5.0 esmvaltool/2.6.0 esmvaltool/2.7.0 esmvaltool/2.8.0
$ module load esmvaltool
$ esmvaltool version
ESMValCore: 2.8.0
ESMValTool: 2.8.0

Thanks to DKRZ support, we now have a central installation of ESMValTool on Levante for the latest released version: v.2.7.0 which is available via
module load
. The previous 2 stable versions are also available centrally:The command
module load esmvaltool
points to the latest release while previous versions can be loaded using version numbers:The command
module help esmvaltool
