In package.json web3 is used with version 1.0.0-beta.36 instead of 1.0.0-beta.55.

Maybe it's good to hold on for a while with the updates - there's talk of releasing a stable 1.0 version of web3.js in web3/web3.js#2684.

1.0.0-beta.36 was strictly selected for a reason. Version higher than that doesn't work with ganache test blockchain. However from What I see a @tcichowicz PR was finally accepted and a new version of ganache 2.5.7 was released, so we can try to match it together.
