could Display Metadata be used to further control what dimension video airplay client sends?

About a year or so ago I saw that gen 3 tv sent some information about the plugged in display (for example, HP, model number, but notably, pixel width/height).

I'll try to find it again soon. My hope is that this might give some additional control over the video dimensions, though I don't know.
