Your work is excellent, but I have a question about the HKS . In the paper, why does HKS have no effect on shallow features, because eventually PAFPN fuses the features so that the coarse-grained features of the large receptive field affect the fine-grained features of the shallow layer ?

Sorry for the delay. Thanks for pointing out this issue. We think we may be being too absolute in our statements. It brings impact to the shallow stage, while our method is trying to reduce the negative impact. The goal of HKS is to extract features at different scales better, during the feature fusion. We will clarify this statement in the later version.
Thanks for your interest in our work!
Best Wishes! 😊
