I'm currently updating Psalms to use the proper USFM tags \d and \qa rather than \s2 .
I have also changed all the non-canonical section headings to use \s rather than \s1 .
I have also changed 4 instances of \ms1 to simply \ms , so that all 5 major sections use the same tag.

Observations:

  • Several canonical titles appear to lack punctuation between parts.
  • The canonical title for Psalm 38 appears to be incomplete. No Hindi words corresponding to 'for a memorial'.
  • The canonical title for Psalm 48 appears to be incomplete. No Hindi word corresponding to 'A song.'
  • The canonical title for Psalm 88 is split into 2 tags which should really be joined, with a suitable punctuation mark being inserted.
  • Only the first stanza of Psalm 119 currently has an acrostic heading (name of Hebrew letter).
However, each stanza does have a non-canonical section heading.

I've done what I can as a general markup improvement in Psalms, but the particular aspects of this issue require a knowledge of Hindi.

Now that my pull request was merged (thanks @joshykurian ), the outstanding points are:

  • 21 missing acrostic headings in Psalm 119
  • Punctuation within canonical titles
  • The apparent incompleteness in some canonical titles.
  • Joining the two title lines in Psalm 88
