FT suggests importing subscriptions from opml or json, but takeout delivers CSVs only. History is html by default but can be asked to deliver as json.

have they changed it recently? I have no idea...

Hello, importing from CSV was added in #1543. You can download the latest nightly build of FreeTube to use this feature. This feature will also be in the upcoming release.

Howdy, I tried to import my subs by 1. converting .csv to .json with an online convertor and it didnt work so thats when I came here and saw the link above to convert into a opml file, so 2. I tried that as well and I get an error saying that my account or some account (not really sure if it means me or a channel) has been terminated etc but it is not actually terminated lol I can still use my yt account on my phone and through the browser. I'll post the screenshots below. Im just not sure what else to do. Im sorry if this has already been settled somewhere, I dont know how to operate the site to well just yet.

Thank you.

v0.14.0 already has support for importing subscriptions from CSV. None of these later actions should be necessary.

hi @Grip what would u like to import?

Hi, I was trying to import from my YouTube subscriptions.
It only allows for csv export without the option for a JSON output.

You should be able to import the csv file the same way.
Here's a link to the docs: (i realize it's slightly outdated and still mentions the JSON file but importing a csv should work)

@ira-bv Were you ever able to get history imported? From what i can tell, only subscription imports have been implemented (not watch history).

Hello!

thanksa for the awsome app!

Issue is I am also not able to import history. Got a JSON of 15Mb from YT export and pointed the app towards ir. While there are no errors, hangups or anything alilke the history is not there.

May be there is a db schema that I can try to use to diractly dum the history inti db?

I can't get history uploaded into FreeTube either using the Json file. When I go to the takeout file and hit select to upload, it just sits there with the select button still selected.
