Question: Is there any documentation on the Filter Tree?

Searched the documentation and Google for more info on using Filter Tree feature and didn't find much. Also, spent several hours playing with it and cannot seem to figure out exactly how to use that. I would like to filter the tree to only show tag: "- [ ]", showing my markdown todos.

Improved documentation around Filter Tree would be much appreciated. Bonus points for a few examples.
