PySide/PyQt: how to get Phonon support? #33102
Comments
If we knew, it would work. :) If you have time and motivation to contribute to solving this, I'm sure the community would appreciate it. |
Well, it's not like there is no way to do this, but it seems like not considered homebrew'ish enough, that's why I'm asking. ;) |
I could live with patching PyQt (to use kde-phonon, I guess?), with bonus style points if the patch adds a configure option and we get upstream to accept the change. |
I'm stuck on this problem too, for long time. |
I've found this bug report https://bugreports.qt-project.org/browse/QTBUG-37209, I hope this will be solved with Qt 4.8.7. |
That Qt bug report (problems building Qt) is unrelated to this issue (phonon support in PyQt). |
This is a feature request so: passing on this in favour of a pull request in future. |
How are we supposed to get Phonon support with PySide/PyQt installed via homebrew? There was a discussion about the problem in #21847 but without result.
Is there a suggested course of action other than using Macports (which seems to provide PySide/PyQt with proper Phonon support)?
