Feature Request/Idea: As a user it would be helpful if I always knew that the Dataverse list of valid Language names is valid #9082

Overview of the Feature Request

It falls under the general topic of using authoritative sources of data directly means less maintenance to a dataverse installation

From Leonid:

Thinking about it, this list of valid language names ... would also be a prime use case for being supplied by an External Service. Pulling it directly from the ISO-639 definition page, for example. This would eliminate us as the middleman having to maintain/replicate the list in our own block distribution.

What kind of user is the feature intended for?
(Example users roles: API User, Curator, Depositor, Guest, Superuser, Sysadmin)

This would benefit any user role

What inspired the request?

This came from @landreev thinking about his work on Spike: What work has already been done towards support for controlled vocabularies for metadata fields

What existing behavior do you want changed?

Currently this list is maintained in Dataverses' own block distribution. This request would have this data be pulled directly from the authoritative source.

Any brand new behavior do you want to add to Dataverse?

No.

Any related open or closed issues to this feature request?

Not that I know of.
