As an instrument scientist I would like the option to make some alarms play an audible alarm (e..g RIKENFE magnet trip) to make the user/instrument scientist instantly aware of the issue.
Explanation
This would replicate behaviour of an old PLC that is no longer used. The suggestion is that by doing this the users would be aware that there was an issue that shouldn't be ignored "as soon as they walk in the control room" and that this would prevent them continuing to gather data when the instrument is in a state that means that data will be meaningless.
