Chapter 4 States

• Insure that one of the slides points out that states use execution modules under the hood, Use debug to help show that in an example.
• Add a slide about using test=True to test states before actually running them (use your descretion where to put this)
• Add a slide that talks about how salt uses jobs for each salt run. HOw to see running jobs, and how ctr+c just pushes the job to the background.
• when talking about Jinja, mention the map.jinja file and show an example of how it could be used.
• Swap out the labs for
  • lab 1, install apache and mysql. Add steve user and Dev group. Install php.
  • lab2, Create a top file that matches based on minion id and runs the DB sls file on the db server and the apache sls file on the apache server
