Current fpcupdeluxe doesn't install if MSYS is installed

Hi Don,
Well I found the problem, I have MSYS2 installed for a new book and fpcupdeluxe is attempting to install or use executable programs from MSYS2. Is there a way to exclude MSYS2 and force fpcupdeluxe to create s separate installation for use with FPCUPDELUXE.

I did install the latest FPC from the FPC Lazarus web site although it does not appear the Lazarus component was installed or is not working.

Any advice or help would be welcomed.

It would be very helpful if you make a copy of the command screen (right-click + copy) and attach the logfile in this issue.

[image: image.png] Don, attached is the screen and the log file is attached. As you can see the program is getting the utilities in the MSYS2 folders. I see there are a couple of threads pointing to this issue. I downloaded the latest Lazurus/FPC installer but it seems the path variable is being used instead of a search for the bootstrap version of FPC. I'm not certain if a path can be put into the fpcupdeluxe program under setup+. I see for a base install the fields are empty. I also notice there are a couple of files for fpcupdeluxe that appear to allow path overrides directly. If there is a way to do this without creating batch files for MSYS2, it would be great. I doing some work on a new version of my cross platform books, and am using WSL2, MSYS2, and several cross platform tools that do not modify or use the path by setting up a folder that isolates paths to that branch of the folder structure. I always assumed that the same was true for fpcupdeluxe since it allows different cross targets to be built in separate folder structures. Ironically Lazarus/FPC is unaffected by the current path variables. Thank you in advance.

You need to attach picture and log directly on Github !

Don, I sent the log and attached the screen in the return email to you. Letting you know the problem is a courtesy as a user. I don't have time to send it through github right now. I have a windows 10 system it works fine on. I use that system for my work. Good luck! Oliver Bailey
