My psvita has unfortunately a broken start button, and I downloaded this plugin with hopes that I can remap some part of the screen to the start button. But, to do anything the hotkey has to be pressed. Ironically, the hotkey uses a key that does not work on my vita.

Is it possible to somehow customize this hotkey? By passing some kernel param or something? In the worse case I would have to fork this project and change this one thing, but I do not have any experience with psvita hacking.

Unfortunately, I never did a proper customization for keys, used by plugin itself to navigate it's menus, so, any action, mapped there to start key - would, unfortunately, remain inaccessible for you.
But actual hotkeys (one of which is combination to open menu) are actually customizable, so you can change it manually, in ux0:data/reVita/HOTKEYS.ini. This .ini file should be created on first Vita boot with plugin active. Just search for "Open menu=" there.

I have this exact problem, 2 days short of a year later. I cannot find the HOTKEYS.ini file anywhere. ReVita is working, I get the little popup when my system starts. How do I fix this now using the latest version?

I think back when I posted this I could not find the HOTKEYS file either, hence why I never closed this issue but I failed to follow up on it.

I'm hoping the owner gets these notifications so I don't have to make a new post. What did you end up doing? How'd you fix your start button?

Sorry, I don't remember. I think I ended up using my PSVita without the start key, though I am really not sure. I have not used my vita in a while.
