Related to https://github.com/MPEGGroup/FileFormatConformance/pull/106/files, there are boxes that were defined in ISOBMFF (e.g. meco) that got removed because of lack of implementations. The spec should say that these 4CC should not be used again.

I agree with this. However, shouldn't this principle apply to every specification that previously defined and later deprecated identifiers?
