  • L3-Tunneling: Update With the 5.5 fix for GRE underlay selection, we need to document the change in behavior. Move the current explanation to per-release section. Add a table with "Features by Version" like we have in other pages. Drop the arbitrary nomeclature of "flat" and "hierarchical" configuration. The simple case is now fully in main VRF, because making it always flat is not possible without adding the extra wrinkle of binding the tunnel to a dummy. The other configuration is now called "general". Stop calling the device that the tunnel is bound to a "bound device". The tunnel is bound, not the device. Instead, change to "bind device" and talk about "binding a tunnel" / "(un)bound tunnel". Signed-off-by: Petr Machata <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: Ido Schimmel <[email protected]>

  • L3-Tunneling: Update documentation - Full topology is set up, not just one half of it. - Encap route is not needed to offload a tunnel anymore. - An introductory paragraph at "Tunnel Configuration" describes flat and hierarchical configuration. - Mention that bound devices serve exclusively as a VRF anchor. - A chapter about decap-only tunnels was added. That mentions the reverse path filtering as well. - A chapter about reactions to configuration changes was added. - Features and Limitations was split per the kernel version.
