Project stability

Hey, I want to use this project on my own app but I'm unsure about its stability, my app will only uses basic expression, if else logic and variables it does work on the current version right?

Hello, yes basic things like if else was added but:

• if by app you mean mobile app, they is no addon for that rn
• remember that the project can be use but it can contains bugs and you have to use artifact (no release currently, except an old alpha release)
• i, WeeskyBDW, dont recommand you using skript-parser for anything else that test the project (NB: my opinion isn't skript-parser opinion)

I guess a contributor will give you his opinion about that

As the main contributor of the project I cannot really advise using the project.

Granted, you will be using basic functionality, but without further information or disclosure I cannot tell you if skript-parser is the best solution. Can you give some more information about your plans?

What I can say however is the fact that when issues occur, they may take longer to fix as this project is currently not actively getting developed.

That said, it would be really cool seeing skript-parser getting used somewhere. I am certainly open for suggestions and I am open to help you with some basic setup if you would need that.

Hey, thank you for your response. My plan is to use skript-parser on my game bot project, where I want to let my users automate the bot process easily and skript looks the best option for me, my project codebase is single threaded in case threading is one of the concern,

I would not be having complex logic like math and stuff, only a few commands like chat <message>, event trigger and if else check on custom object I'll have. Looking by the things I'm going to use, this project current state should be pretty stable right?

I noticed that Skript has global effects, conditions, etc stored when SkriptRegistration#register is called. In this case my "multi threading" environment wouldn't work right? So if I do something like this

Main thread

• Class MainSkript as SkriptAddon
• Registers..
• Handle skript loading from file

Bot1 - Thread 1

• Gets loaded trigger from MainSkript periodically
• Execute

Bot2 - Thread 2

• Gets loaded trigger from MainSkript periodically
• Execute

It should works fine right? my main concern is only on executing because I'm not sure if it's thread safe or not

You can even use the finishedLoading() method in the SkriptAddon class to easily manage multiple instances. I think the project would be stable enough for you to use. If there are core issues, like if-else logic failing, they will be addressed as soon as possible. The project does not use a lot of async-related stuff except for EffAsync, SecAsync and EffWait. That last one is used pretty often and needs a little rework, but it should work fine.

If you have any questions while developing, I'm always open to chat. The development is pretty similar to Skript's environment, assuming you found this project through there.

Would be amazing to see skript-parser used to program Lego poweredup systems. Right now scratch is used although there are possibilities to use Python with micropython builds. But would be a game changer to use something like skript, kids will have a face to face with his first real programming language, which will be easy to code and understand.

Mainly the programs should control motors and sensors and matrix screens. Do some math and use logic.

Interesting approach! I think Skript as a language has so many possibilities, we just don't have the resources to pursue those goals.
