Describe the feature request

When I click an extension menu item to process generate a product from my simulation results there is no user feedback that the click event occurred. The extension script takes a few seconds to run, and there is no user feedback that anything is happening. A visual effect on the menu item or some notification that Aerie called the extension help. A spinning "something is happening" icon would be great. Otherwise the user is sitting there wondering if anything is happening, until suddenly the extension call returns.
