A prototype for running CCPP physics on GPUs has been developed by NOAA-GSL's @danielabdi-noaa. This GPU-enabled is a drop-in replacement for the current code. When compiled for CPU use in the ufs-weather-model, the new code gives b4b identical results with GNU in DEBUG and PROD mode, and with Intel in DEBUG mode. Results differ with Intel in PROD mode due to the more aggressive optimization the Intel compiler applies.
