In a ZenDesk report, we learned that while StoryMapJS correctly interprets Shorts URLs (like https://youtube.com/shorts/yjGBkWXC55w?feature=share ) as something which should use the YouTube media type, it doesn't correctly extract the media ID from the URL, which results in users seeing a YouTube player which errors when the play button is pressed.
Shorts (YouTube's answer to TikTok) are fundamentally vertical, so even if we were to correctly embed them, I am not sure we could come up with a satisfying design, but logging the issue here for future consideration.
