Custom Repeat Command for Vol Up/Down

Is there a possibillity to enable a custom repeat command instead of the count function for Volume Up/Down?

The Remote i have has a repeat command to raise the volume more quickly (single press vs. long press on remote)
so it enables a continuous movement of the stepper motor instead of X single movements

Maybe you can tell me where exactly to look at and i can try to implement it by myself.
