i was about to implement some template sensors to track the plant date, flower and harvest time for my tomatoes and thought, wouldn't this be a nice feature for all? At least the plant date could be something everybody could benefit from. For people using this sensor to track their summer garden / 1 year vegetables the other date entities could be of interest too.
The plant date could be set with creation of the plant entity, still be editable for cases the plant is older than the sensor was put in.
The flower time could even be something for the plantbook database.
From this a state could be from interest, rooting, growing or flower. With this a harvest date could be calculated.
This could be advanced even further, for outdoor and indoor plants, wheres the flower time is a date (for outdoors, even depending on the hemisphere) or a duration (for indoors).
There are also plants that flower (and die) dependent on age, not on sun hours/day duration.
Its alot to template by hand.

PRs are welcome.
Although I am not sure all your ideas would fit, but it might be nice addons. It still sounds like a lot of work, so please provide some code.
