Home Assistant, version 2023.5 introduced a new integration called Android TV Remote. To avoid confusion with the existing "Android TV" integration, "Android TV" was renamed to Android Debug Bridge.

This change was expected and discussed by a few of us here in discussion #61

Firemote v2.2.0 officially supports and uses both the Android Debug Bridge and the Android TV Remote integrations simultaneously to achieve the best performance possible.

Admittedly, I haven't finished updating all of the documentation yet for the changes in v2.2.0, but I do believe that I've properly changed all of the language that used to refer to "Android TV" to now reflect the new name of "Android Debug Bridge".

The renaming of Android TV to Android Debug Bridge is a cosmetic change, and hasn't yet changed the way that Firemote works. Firemote is still 100% functional.

Hi, thanks for guide. I try first that Android tv remote but it don't work at all. Meybe it's not for firestick.
I use Android device bridge and it works great.

@PrzemekSkw you are correct. Unfortunately the Android TV Remote integration doesn't work on Amazon Fire devices. The author of the new Android TV Remote integration was asked about that in this issue home-assistant/core#92656 confirming that it wasn't designed to work with them. I haven't heard if it will work in the future or not. Thankfully, Firemote doesn't need it!
