Hi,

While trying to install your application, I get an exception when running "ant -Dcommons.env=testing install"

Given the error I checked but the configuration in src/config/config.ini is correct and I can log in to MySQL with that information on the commandline mysql client.

What could be the cause of this, and how should I solve it?

Did you also create a build.properties.local with your database settings as described in https://github.com/Qafoo/review#development?

Hm, no, I did not. From the documentation I gathered that was not a required step (only required if you wanted to trigger development mode). Did I interpret the documentation incorrectly?

I just created a build.properties.local file and set the database settings there. I still get the same error.

Hmm, the exception indicates that DBDeploy cannot connect to your MySQL server. May be, one of the hints in http://serverfault.com/questions/89955/unable-to-connect-to-mysql-through-jdbc-connector-through-tomcat-or-externally helps?

Hm. Most hints seem to be related to the used address, but if that was the problem, I should not be able to connect to the server with my cli. I can simply connect with:

mysql -u root --host=localhost

So I'm guessing if I can do this with the cli, DBDeploy should be able to, or am I missing something?

Not sure if DBDeploy does something different here. Maybe @manuelpichler can give a hint on that?
