Thanks I'd like to give 🙌

  • You are all such lovely people and I am grateful to get to work with you

Updates from last week ✔️

  • No updates. Been working hard on Conda Store. I plan on devoting the rest of this week and much of next week to making progress here.

Challenges I faced and things I'd like assistance with 🙏

  • I'm aware of the draft JEP from Eric, but I haven't really dug into it yet. Can we discuss this in our team meeting?
  • Something that I brought up in yesterday's JupyterLab Accessibility Meeting - do we want to use some of the time at the next meeting to brainstorm ideas for how we want to use the jupyter/accessibility repo? I'm particularly interested in hearing from other devs who have worked in the JupyterLab codebase on accessibility - what would they find useful?

My availability for next week

  • I'm available all next week!

Thanks I'd like to give 🙌

  • @tonyfast took some meetings off my plate this week so I could make progress on grant writing! Thank yooooou!

Updates from last week ✔️

  • JupyterLab theme editor: Met with Tony and sorted through CSS variables into the kinds of information that's useful in a settings editor. I think he has a little proof of concept work too? (demo????)
  • Progress the community grant! Phew, I was glad to make some progress.
  • Comments on UI components JEP draft per request advocating for more accessible foundations to the UI.
  • The workshops are coming! I need to get announcements up.

Challenges I faced and things I'd like assistance with 🙏

  • Even though we have these updates, I feel unclear on what's happening right now and I can support y'all's work. I feel very isolated. Can we check in about this?

My availability for next week

  • I'll be out of office on the 25 and 28.

@isabela-pf - Jlab theme editor
- need to tie CSS variables to how they are used
- fonts-editor extension - seems easier to work on there since this exposes the CSS variables
- it would ideal if we could design the shape of the UI with a JSON schema
- https://github.com/deathbeds/jupyterlab-fonts

@gabalafou

  • next a11y meeting - ask folks how to make jupyter/accessibility useful for them (brainstorming 🧠 )

@tonyfast
- working on https://github.com/tonyfast/accessibility/tree/python to make this more Pythonic: retrolab, lumino
- with the rework ☝🏽 that will make things more composable and easier to adapt to other projects in Jupyter world
- @trallard can help with the review when needed

@trallard - reviewing https://github.com/jupyter/governance/pull/121/files
