Qupzilla 1.4.4: Crash on every close #1071
Comments
I assume, that QupZilla was working before. Did you have this issue with version 1.4.3? What did you do or change in your system, that makes QupZilla behave like this? |
I don't exactly know what changed on my system to make this crash happen. I can reproduce this bug without having any profile (deleted/moved the old one). Reinstalling the package does not fix this problem. I this may be related to updating Fedora from 19 to 20. |
I didn't have qupzilla 1.4.3 installed from Fedora repositories but 1.4.4 was working before. on F19. |
I currently can't test with my setup here but I think that Qupzilla crashes for me on F20 since Fedora enables GCC stack smashing protection by default and most other distributions or people don't. Have you tried compiling Qupzilla with stack smashing protection enabled? |
Can you please send me all compiler options that have been used to build qupzilla? |
Btw this message looks suspicious too |

How do I get the compiler options? I am using the binary package provided by fedora repositories. I reported this bug at redhat/Fedora Bugzilla: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1024495 I just noticed that qupzilla even crashes when starting with |
Sorry for all that trouble. I found the reason: There was a manually built binary library from qupzilla I built some time ago and didn't correctly remove. I removed that library and reinstalled qupzilla (made sure no other qupzilla files are around) and qupzilla now works fine and doesn't crash at exit any more. |
Ah :-D Well, I'm glad it works for you now :) |
Using Qupzilla 1.4.4 from Fedora 20 packages
Every (!) time qupzilla exits (is closed by pressing the 'X' button) it crashes. Even if no page was open.
