I don't think it does. I'm using 1.6.1 and it gives me the following error:

Yes, it's working even with angularJS 1.8.2
The issue which you're getting is because of not merged this pr: #65

Not sure if @Reklino is still interested in this repository unfortunately so you need to modify it manually
