Being in contact via direct messages with many people using Rocketchat results in a very long scrollable unsorted list of people. Most times I cannot find the person without the search function and o' dear when I do not remember the name of somebody that contacted me a couple of days ago with a question and now finally I got the answer.
Therefore it would be nice to be able to assign people to different "groups" e.g. team, project, ... and then display those users grouped using these collapsable "groups".

This feature request is the pure gold

Hi all,

it would also be very nice if you could mention a group e.g. @admin in a channel. That way someone could mention the whole admin team even if there are more users in a channel.

Or maybe there is a way to do this right now, that we havent found yet. We made a channel #admin_request and when you ask for sth you have to join this channel and post the question with @ALL so that we get a notification. The thing is that all the other users who joined this channel get the mention too which is inconvenient.

Thanks.

Why that request converted to discussion?
IMHO, it is a must have function, that a lot of popular and enterprise messages do have, for example Skype for Business (and Skype too), IBM SameTime, almost any XMPP messenger and an old good ICQ.
Our user asking that feature actively.
So @engelgabriel @marceloschmidt please consider to develop that feature, it would be a great improvement for such good messaging platform as Rocket.Chat
