Calling all language speakers! Here's your chance to contribute to Terrastories by helping us fill in missing strings, or translating the core of the application to a new language. All contributions welcome!

Here's how it works:

All language translations are in yaml format and live in rails/config/locales. English is our main source of truth. For ALL other languages, there are currently strings missing. And of course numerous languages that could benefit from being added to Terrastories.

For your language of choice, please review either your existing language (e.g. in am, es, hi, ja, ...) and fill in any missing strings that you see in the en files.

For new languages, make your own directory with the right acronym from the ISO language codes, and work with the English translations to add your own.

A minimum viability requirement for adding a new language to Terrastories is that en.yml is fully translated. But a stretch goal is to have ALL strings from en/ translated.

A big priority for us is Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch, and Swahili as these are all languages where we have current users who use these languages.

Please note that we WILL take the time to review language submissions with language speakers. We have gotten bogus or Google Translate submissions in the past, and we will need to be pickier this time around.
