How do you complete remove Projects menu and all its attached features?

I love this theme but I'd rather just keep a posts tab that contains both blogs and my projects. I've been trying to remove and comment out some of the css stuff like overlay but I seem to be breaking the site. Help please?

Thank you! This is perfect! Can you point me to some specifics that I should be looking for when making the changes to the files? Right now, I'm virtually just comparing them line by line..
