Sometimes gaps are found in gpx files, maybe your gps receiver has failed. A manual insertion of points within a new section could solve this problem. Some of the ideas:

  • Keep timestamp of the track
  • Click two points: start of the gap and end of the gap
  • Insert points by clicking
  • Click a DONE button
  • These new points have a timestamp associated having a constant speed from the starting gap point timestamp to its end
