Environment:
Base-64 19.2.0
Upgraded pkgsrc: bootstrap-trunk-x86_64-20190317-upgrade.tar.gz

$ svcadm enable couchdb
results in error:
cat: @Prefix@/couchdb/releases/start_erl.data: No such file or directory
/opt/local/bin/couchdb[31]: exec: @Prefix@/couchdb/erts-/bin/erlexec: not found

Modify: /opt/local/bin/couchdb and hard coding in some @Prefix...

export ROOTDIR="/opt/local/couchdb"
... and ...
exec "$BINDIR/erlexec" -boot "$ROOTDIR/releases/$APP_VSN/couchdb"
-args_file "/opt/local/couchdb/releases/2.3.1/vm.args"
-config "${SYSCONFIG_FILE}" "$@"

When I run the service, I now get:
{database_does_not_exist,
[{mem3_shards,load_shards_from_db,"_users",
[{file,"src/mem3_shards.erl"},{line,395}]},

I removed the /var/db/couchdb dir that was installed with the pkg and replaced it with a couchdb database directory from a running couchdb instance.

Now, couchdb does not run as a service, it gives error:
Eshell V10.4.4 (abort with ^G)
1> *** Terminating erlang (nonode@nohost)

But, it will run on the shell:
root:/var/db# /opt/local/bin/couchdb

I can go to:
http://localhost:5984/_utils/index.html#/verifyinstall

when verifying "Creating Views", I get this error:
/opt/local/couchdb/lib/couch-2.3.1-RC3/priv/couchspawnkillable[20]: exec: /opt/local/couchdb/bin/couchjs: not found

So I copy:
$ mkdir /opt/local/couchdb/bin/
$ cp /opt/local/bin/couchjs /opt/local/couchdb/bin/

Now, I end up with error:

Error in process <0.3244.0> with exit value:
{{badmatch,{error,{nodedown,<<"progress not possible">>}}},
[{ddoc_cache_entry_validation_funs,recover,1,
[{file,"src/ddoc_cache_entry_validation_funs.erl"},{line,33}]},
{ddoc_cache_entry,do_open,1,
[{file,"src/ddoc_cache_entry.erl"},{line,297}]}]}

I'm suspecting the database dir, so I purge it:
$ rm -rf /var/db/couchdb
$ mkdir /var/db/couchdb

http://localhost:5984/_utils/index.html#/setup

do a node setup and everything seems to work.

Does not run as a service. Only works via command running as root:
root@sandbox4:/var/db/couchdb# /opt/local/bin/couchdb

Verified couchdb ownership on /var/db/couchdb and /var/log/couchdb
root@sandbox4:/var/db# ll
drwxr-xr-x 7 couchdb couchdb 12 Oct 28 14:40 couchdb/

drwxr-xr-x 4 root sys 8 Oct 27 16:26 ../
-rw-r--r-- 1 couchdb couchdb 2126545 Oct 28 14:42 couch.log

When running as a service, you get this error message:

I just provisioned a new 2019Q3-x86_64 image ran 'pkgsrc -fy up && pkgin -y in couchdb'. The install ran as expected. However I had the same problems after running: 'svcadm enable -r couchdb'. I disabled all of the services and rewrote /opt/local/bin/couchdb and then ran 'svcadm enable -r couchdb' and all is well. In the course of testing I screwed up the permissions in var/log/couchdb and in /var/db/couchdb a simple 'chown -R couchdb:couchdb /var/{log,db}/couchdb' should resolve the issue. Here is my /opt/local/bin/couchdb:

I deleted the BSD licensing portion of the script because it was causing gigantic fonts in the post.

#!/bin/sh
export PREFIX=/opt/local
export ROOTDIR=${PREFIX}/couchdb

#START_ERL=$(cat ${ROOTDIR}/releases/start_erl.data)
ERTS_VSN=$(cat ${ROOTDIR}/releases/start_erl.data | awk '{print $1}')
APP_VSN=$(cat ${ROOTDIR}/releases/start_erl.data | awk '{print $2}')

export BINDIR="${ROOTDIR}/erts-${ERTS_VSN}/bin"
export EMU=beam
export PROGNAME=echo $0 | sed 's/.*\///'

export COUCHDB_QUERY_SERVER_JAVASCRIPT="${ROOTDIR}/bin/couchjs ${ROOTDIR}/share/server/main.js"
export COUCHDB_QUERY_SERVER_COFFEESCRIPT="${ROOTDIR}/bin/couchjs ${ROOTDIR}/share/server/main-coffee.js"

ARGS_FILE=${ROOTDIR}/etc/vm.args

Update ruby-mocha to 1.11.2.

## 1.11.2

### External changes

* Fix regression introduced in v1.10.0 that meant `Object#inspect` was called unnecessarily (368abd98)
* Warn when mock object receives invocations in another test - thanks to @nitishr (#442)
* Avoid rubocop comments appearing in YARD-generated docs (d8019eed)

### Internal changes

* Replace `StubbedMethod#original_method` & `#original_visibility` attribute reader methods with instance variables - thanks to @nitishr (d917f332)
* Set up `MochaExampleTest` & `StubbaExampleTest` as acceptance tests - thanks to @nitishr (4881cc58)
* Delete unused `PrettyParameters` class - thanks to @nitishr (314ea922)

## 1.11.1

### External changes

* The `reinstate_undocumented_behaviour_from_v1_9` configuration option is now enabled by default to give people a chance to see and fix the relevant deprecation warnings before the behaviour is removed in a future release (b91b1c9e)

## 1.11.0

### External changes

* Add `Expectation#with_block_given` & `Expectation#with_no_block_given` (#441).
  * Allows non-deprecated solution for #382. Thanks to @yemartin for reporting and to @techbelly & @nitishr for feedback.
* Fix issue with non-Array arguments passed to `Expectation#multiple_yields` (#444).
  * The undocumented behaviour is now properly supported and documented.

### Internal changes

* Move static YARD options from Rake task to `.yardopts` file - thanks to @nitishr (#429)
* Simplify implementation of yielding functionality - thanks to @nitishr (#439)
* Add missing require statement to `acceptance_test_helper.rb` (1070fc02)
* Add some baseline acceptance tests for yielding behaviour (c2cac911)
* Display a sponsor button on GitHub repo page (9fc5911b)
* Use new Deprecation.warning behaviour in `Invocation#call` (932d1166)

## 1.10.2

* Optionally reinstate undocumented behaviour from v1.9. This introduces a new configuration option (`reinstate_undocumented_behaviour_from_v1_9`) to reinstate a couple of bits of undocumented behaviour from v1.9 which were changed in v1.10 without any prior deprecation warning (#438):
  * The behaviour of `API#mock`, `API#stub` and `API#stub_everything` when called with a symbol as the first argument.
  * The behaviour of `Expectation#yields` and `Expectation#multiple_yields` when the stubbed method is called without a block.

## 1.10.1

* Ensure ObjectMethods & ClassMethods included when API extended (43778756)
* Fix regression in `any_instance` stubbing of methods on object which has an implementation of `#respond_to?` that depends on the object's internal state - thanks to @rafaelfranca for reporting & @nitishr for fixing (#432, #434, 469d4b17)

## 1.10.0

* Improve deprecation warning when requiring 'mocha/setup' (388f44d7)
* Add documentation for Cucumber integration (13ab797b)
* Add documentation about an undocumented feature of `API#mock`, `API#stub` & `API#stub_everything` being changed (7ed2e4e7, d30c1717)

## 1.10.0.beta.1

* Hide `ClassMethods#method_visibility` & `#method_exists?` methods to avoid clash with Rails (#428)

## 1.10.0.alpha

### External changes

* Remove dependency on metaclass gem (#49, #365)
* Accept symbol (as well as a string) as mock/stub name - thanks to @nitishr (#347, #353, #377)
* More realistic examples in documentation for `Expectation#yields` and `#multiple_yields` - thanks to @nitishr (#352, #383)
* Improve documentation for `Mock#responds_like` & `#responds_like_instance_of` - thanks to @nitishr (#337, #384)
* Make `Expectation#yields` & `Expectation#multiple_yields` fail when the caller of the stubbed method does not provide a block. This is a change to an undocumented aspect of the public API's behaviour. If this causes your tests to fail, then fix it by removing the unnecessary call to `Expectation#yields` or `Expectation#multiple_yields` - thanks to @nitishr (#382)
* Document `MOCHA_OPTIONS` in README - thanks to @nitishr (#311, #386)
* Add documentation to explain how Mocha is intended to be used - thanks to @nitishr (#330, #385)
* Deprecation warning if integration using 'mocha/test_unit' or 'mocha/minitest' fails - thanks to @nitishr (#229, #389, c6032d0b)
* Require at least one specified sequence for `Expectation#in_sequence` - thanks to @nitishr (#79, #396, 9020248a)

* Optionally display matching invocations alongside expectations - thanks to @nitishr (#178, #394, 00f0540, #410)
* Put deprecations into effect (#400, #418):
  * Remove deprecated 'mocha_standalone.rb' & 'mocha/standalone.rb'
  * Fail fast if no test library loaded
  * Removed optional block for `Mocha::API#mock`, `#stub` & `#stub_everything`
  * Remove deprecated `ParameterMatchers#has_equivalent_query_string` method
  * Remove deprecated 'mocha/mini_test.rb'

v3.3.1      Mon Jan 13 10:27:16 CST 2020
========================================
[FIXES]
Some regexes would be shown as invalid when used with the -Q option. Since
the -Q tells ack to treat the regex as a literal, this shouldn't be
possible.  (GH#294)

v3.3.0      Sat Dec 28 16:00:21 CST 2019
========================================
[FEATURES]
The error message ack displays when the regex passed is invalid has been
improved. The message is more readable and includes a pointer to the
offending part of the regex. For example:

    $ ack 'status: (open|closed|in progress'
    ack: Invalid regex 'status: (open|closed|in progress'
    Regex: status: (open|closed|in progress
                   ^---HERE Unmatched ( in regex

Added many new file and directory exclusions to speed up file selection.
* Python's *.pyc, *.pyd and *.pyo compiled files
* Python's __pycache__ and .pytest_cache directories
* Linux *.so shared object files
* Windows dynamic-link library *.dll files
* gettext compiled *.mo translation files
* macOS's __MACOSX directories and .DS_Store files

Reorganized the --help menu to put "action" options like -f, -g and -l at
the top of the listing.

The --show-types option only has an effect with -f or -g. ack will now
tell you if you use --show-types without -f or -g when it will have no
effect.

Improved the error message when ack gets passed two options that can't be
used together.

[FIXES]
Fixed the behavior of --break and --heading. Using --break would
implicitly set --noheading, and --heading would implicitly set --nobreak.

The following pairs of options don't make sense to use together, and ack will now warn you if you try:

* -x and --files-from
* -v and -o
* -v and --output
* -v and --passthru

Fixed the minimum version of the Getopt::Long module required. (GH #287)

The line number and filename separators in --passthru mode now work the
same as in context (-A/-B/-C) mode. (GH #291)

v3.2.0      Sun Nov  3 22:52:18 CST 2019
========================================
[FEATURES]
Added "-t X" as a short alias for --type=X.

Added "-T X" as a short alias for --type=noX.

The feature of using the name of the type as an option is deprecated. For
example, ack currently lets you use "--perl" instead of "--type=perl" or
"-t perl", This is now deprecated and will be removed in a future release.

Removed support for Parrot (--parrot).

v3.1.3      Sat Oct 19 19:23:48 CDT 2019
========================================
No changes to functionality. Fixed a problem with version numbers.
Thanks to Dan Book for his help.
See beyondgrep/ack3@b3c43d4

v3.1.2      Mon Oct 14 21:47:51 CDT 2019
========================================
[SPEEDUP]
Using -w with a pattern that ended with a metacharacter would be slower
than it should be because it would skip an optimization. Now it's fixed.
(GH #181, #251)

[FIXES]
Fixed test failures that would sometimes happen on Windows machines because
of taint mode. Thanks, Tomasz Konojacki. (GH #235)

Remove the use of the version.pm module.

v3.1.1      Sat Aug 31 22:56:10 CDT 2019
========================================
[SPEEDUP]
Improved the speed up the -l, -L and -c options by pre-scanning the file
in bulk before doing line-by-line scan. (GH #221)

ack now uses File::Next 1.18 which calls stat() only once per file or
directory, instead of sometimes calling it twice. This should improve the
time spent traversing directories.

[FIXES]
On Windows, patterns with $ to mark the end of the line would not match.
(GH #229)

[DOCUMENTATION]
Fixed docs that referred to --range-stop instead of --range-end. (GH #228)

v3.1.0      Thu Aug 22 22:43:15 CDT 2019
========================================
[FEATURES]
Added the --range-start and --range-end options to allow searching only
ranges of each file. (GH #165)

v3.0.3      Tue Aug 20 23:42:02 CDT 2019
========================================
[FIXES]
Made smartcase's check for lowercase patterns smarter.

[DOCUMENTATION]
Updated many URLs, especially in the config. (GH #223)

v3.0.2      Thu Jul  4 21:42:43 CDT 2019
========================================
[FIXES]
ack's smart-case feature would think that a pattern like "select \S+ from"
is looking for a uppercase letter, and so would not make a case-insensitive
search. Now, ack knows that uppercase letters in metacharacters don't
count as looking for a uppercase letter. (GH #156, 187, 214)

v3.0.1      Tue Jun 25 20:47:58 CDT 2019
========================================
[FIXES]
The -s option tells ack not to complain about missing or unreadable files
it tries to search. The -s option would not always work in conjection with
the -x option. Now it does. Thanks, Anders Eriksson and M. Scott Ford.
(GH #175)

ack would die if you specified a --output option that didn't use one
of Perl's special match variables. Now it won't. Thanks, M. Scott
Ford. (GH #210)

[INTERNALS]
Added a Dockerfile for use when working on ack development. Thanks,
M. Scott Ford. (GH #208)

v3.0.0      Mon May 27 21:46:34 CDT 2019
========================================
First official release of ack verison 3.

See "Release notes for ack 3.0.0" at the bottom of this document for
details of what has changed between ack 2.x and ack 3.

[FIXES]
Fixed a failing test if Pod::Perldoc::ToTextOverstrike was being
used. (GH#202)

2.999_08 Sun May 19 20:33:13 CDT 2019
=====================================
[ENHANCEMENTS]
Consolidated the manual and FAQ into one document, accessible with --man.
Cookbook.pm has been moved to dev for future use.

Added SVG filetype.

[FIXES]
Invalid options used to cause an error message triplicate. Fixes GH #192.

2.999_07 Sun Mar 31 21:54:55 CDT 2019
=====================================
[ENHANCEMENTS]
Added --help-colors and --help-rgb-colors options to display colors
available for color options.

Many more mutex options have been added to help users know when they've
made a mistake. For example, it doesn't make sense to have -C to show
context when using -f to get a file list.

Overhauled the handling of mutually exclusive options. We now properly
handle mutex options even if they are abbreviated. The actual argument
used is now shown. Fixes GH #57.

2.999_06 Thu Jan 10 20:37:23 CST 2019
=====================================
[ENHANCEMENTS]
The --tt option for Template Toolkit is now --ttml. The short version
still works.

The standalone version of ack no longer supports the --faq or --cookbook
options, which never worked right for it anyway. Instead, --man includes
the FAQ and Cookbook.

The --man option no longer uses the `perldoc` program for rendering the
documentation. This means you'll have to pipe it into your own pager if
you want scrolling, but it makes it much more portable.

[FIXES]
ack would stop finding files if there was a file named "0" in the current
directory. Thanks, Rob Hoelz. (GH #162)

[REMOVED FUNCTIONALITY]
The --lines option has been removed. (GH #167)

The -u short alias for --underline has been removed. (GH #173)

2.999_05 Sun Oct 21 21:37:39 CDT 2018
=====================================
[ENHANCEMENTS]
Add -p as a shorter version of --proximate.

2.999_04 Thu Sep  6 17:45:07 CDT 2018
=====================================
[ENHANCEMENTS]
Added -P as a negation of --proximate. It is the same as --proximate=0.
If you have --proximate in an .ackrc, -P can be used to cancel it.

Added --ts for Typescript.

2.999_03 Fri Jan 19 11:02:46 CST 2018
=====================================
[ENHANCEMENTS]
The check for whether we need to scan the entire file line-by-line now
reads 10M of file instead of just 100K.

Removed support for the ACK_OPTIONS environment variable. Use an ackrc
file instead. If you have ACK_OPTIONS set, ack will give a warning.

Lots of internal speedups.

2.999_02 Mon Jan  8 23:03:42 CST 2018
=====================================
[ENHANCEMENTS]
Added an optimization to make ack only do a line-by-line search of a
file if there's a match somewhere in the file. This gives ack a 20-30%
in timings of common cases.

2.999_01 Mon Jan  1 22:11:17 CST 2018
=====================================
[ENHANCEMENTS]
Added --pod as a filetype, recognizing .pod as its extension. This is
Perl's POD (Plain Old Documentation) format.

Added --markdown as a filetype, recognizing .md and .markdown as
extensions.

--pager is no longer allowed in a project .ackrc file. --match and
--output are not allowed in any .ackrc file.

ack 3's new features are listed below for now.

[FIXES]
--lines had some mutex options that were not getting checked. Now,
--lines is mutex with --passthru, --match and all context options.

=============================
# Release notes for ack 3.0.0
=============================

# New features

ack 3 is a greplike tool optimized for searching large code trees.

Improvements over ack 2 include:

* Improved `-w` option.

* `-w` option will warn if your pattern does not lend itself to
word matching.

* `-i`, `-I` and `--smart-case`

* `--proximate=N` option

* Added `--pod` and `--markdown`.

* Added `GNUmakefile` to the list of makefile specs.

* Added `-S` as a synonym for `--smart-case`.

# Bug fixes

* Column numbers were not getting colorized in the output. Added
`--color-colno` option and `ACK_COLOR_COLNO` environment variable.

* A pattern that wanted whitespace at the end could match the
linefeed at the end of a line. This is no longer possible.

# Incompatibilities with ack 2

## ack 3 requires Perl 5.10.1

ack 2 only needed Perl 5.8.8. This shouldn't be a problem since 5.10.1
has been out since 2009.

## ack 3 no longer highlights capture groups.

ack 2 would highlight your capture groups. For example,

    ack '(set|get)_foo_(name|id)'

would highlight the `set` or `get`, and the `name` or `id`, but not the
full `set_user_id` that was matched.

This feature was too confusing and has been removed. Now, the entire
matching string is highlighted.

## ack 3's --output allows fewer special variables

In ack 2, you could put any kind of Perl code in the `--output`
option and it would get `eval`uated at run time, which would let
you do tricky stuff like this gem from Mark Fowler
(http://www.perladvent.org/2014/2014-12-21.html):

    ack --output='$&: @{[ eval "use LWP::Simple; 1" && length LWP::Simple::get($&) ]} bytes' \
                    'https?://\S+' list.txt
    http://google.com/: 19529 bytes
    http://metacpan.org/: 7560 bytes
    http://www.perladvent.org/: 5562 bytes

This has been a security problem in the past, and so in ack 3 we
no longer `eval` the contents of `--output`. You're now restricted
to the following variables: `$1` thru `$9`, `$_`, `$.`, `$&`, ``$` ``,
`$'` and `$+`.  You can also embed `\t`, `\n` and `\r` ,
and `$f` as stand-in for `$filename` in `ack2 --output` .

Changes:
1.27.5
------
 - cups-browsed: Do not remove the created local queues on
   shutdown, to avoid their re-creation on restart, so that
   desktops get no cluttered with notifications of new queues
   being created. One can return to the old behavior via
   "KeepGeneratedQueuesOnShutdown No" in cups-browsed.conf
   (Ubuntu bug #1869981, #1878241).
 - cups-browsed: Do not accept DNS-SD broadcasts of IPPS type
   of "remote" CUPS queues of another CUPS instance on the
   local machine. This way we get a local queue pointing to
   such a printer only in unencrypted version (IPP). For some
   reason printing from one CUPS server to another on the same
   machine works only unencrypted.
 - foomatic-rip: Map two-sided-short-edge to DuplexTumble (Pull
   request #236)
 - Build system: In configure.ac use AS_IF instead of
   AC_CHECK_FILE for font check (Issue #239, Pull request #240)
 - cups-browsed: Cleaned up code for determining to which CUPS
   server (host/port/domain socket) to connect, so that
   connection via DomainSocket cups-browsed.conf directive,
   CUPS_SERVER and IPP_PORT environment variables and all
   defaults and methods of libcups, including CUPS' client.conf
   work.
 - gstoraster, rastertopdf: Do not pass NULL to fprintf() (Pull
   request #230).
 - libcupsfilters: Silence compiler warning (Pull request #229).

Changelog:
GEGL-0.4.24 2020-06-07

Build:
~~~~~~
CI creation and caching of container images for build.  Force support for 64bit
file offsets on win32, re-enabling >2GB tile swap, fallout from migration to
meson. Operations in workshop are now built as a bundle.
Core:
~~~~~

cppcheck liniting fixes. Report pixel-formats as part of graphviz debug. New
meta-data API, that permit handling non-exif metadata in different file loaders
and savers in a generic manner. Use g_ascii_strtod to avoid being tripped up
by ',' expected through locale.

Buffer:
~~~~~~~
Fixed integer overflow in u32 bilinear blit scaler.
Changed cubic interpolation to be a bit softer, reducing induced moire seen in
issue #167. Speeded up cubic sampler with custom inlinable fabsf.
Gracefully fail when running out of swap space. issue #229 Avoid
possible deadlock in file monitoring, working around upstream issue.  Reduced
contention on tile allocation. Allow creating buffers with uninitialized data,
and tracking of empty tiles in tile backends. Sleep on tile lock contention,
reducing contention when hyperthreading. Cppcheck liniting fixes.
Operations:
~~~~~~~~~~~

Meta-operations now have an additional vfunc, update(), which gets invoked on
property changes, all meta ops have been refactored to use the new cleaner API.
gegl_operation_meta_watch_node(s) were already effectively nops, they are
marked as deprecated and left as stubs for thid party ops still calling them.

We now provide our own inlined versions of some basic single precision floats
ops, this enables inlining of performance critical code also with lower
optimization levels.

crop: with no parameters set, infer rectangle to crop from graph.

crop: cropping rectangle can be implied from graph.
hue-chroma: avoid modifying hue/chroma of neutrals
dropshadow: added option for shadow growing
median-blur: accept negative radius values
rgb-clip: add parameters for specifying clipping ranges
vignette: new shapes, horizontal and vertical.
imgcmp: make max-diff property conform to gobject standard.
save-pixbuf: use a GObject for consumer read instead of pointer property.
gegl-graph: add a gegl-chain tutorial as default script.

New Ops:

border-align: place a buffer within the borders of another one.
pack: joins two buffers into one, with optional gap.
bloom: adds a glow around highlights.
piecewise-blend: uses a grayscale map as index into array of buffers used as LUT.
variable-blur: uses piecewise-blend piecewise-blend and gaussian blur to approximate blurs with per-pixel blur radius.
focus-blur: a vignetting blur, using variable-blur.
reset-origin: moves upper left of extent to 0,0
band-tune: parametric band equalizer for tuning frequency bands of image.

Change MASTER_SITE to author's github.

Breaking changes:
  GNU Emacs 25.1 or later is required. And xemacs support has been dropped
  Face variables, such as markdown-italic-face are now
  obsolete. Use face names directly in code and customizations.
  The face names themselves are unaffected, so this shouldn't
  affect most users.
  Delete obsoleted aliases
  Internal variables markdown-font-lock-keywords-basic and
  gfm-font-lock-keywords are now obsolete.
  markdown-font-lock-keywords is now used instead, but users
  should use font-lock-add-keywords instead of modifying this
  variable.
  markdown-mode now adds entries to the beginning of
  auto-mode-alist rather than the end. If you were relying on
  the previous behavior in order to override these entries, you
  should fix the problem by following best practice and ensuring
  that your user configuration is loaded after the autoloads for
  markdown-mode are evaluated. (GH-331, GH-335)
  Point at the end of fenced code blocks is no-longer considered
  part of the code block ([GH-#349][]).
  Enable markdown-fontify-code-blocks-natively in gfm-view-mode. ([GH-#451][])

New features:
  GFM task list item (checkbox) insertion with C-c C-s [, or
  as a final fallback for markdown-do (C-c C-d). Thanks to
  Akinori Musha for a patch. (GH-229)
  Optionally move leading atx heading markup to the left margin
  when markdown-marginalize-headers is non-nil. Thanks to
  Alexis Gallagher for a patch. (GH-272, GH-274)
  Added pipe table editing features. Thanks to Dmitry Safronov
  for a patch. (GH-171, GH-266)
  Font lock for HTML tags and attributes, with new faces
  markdown-html-tag-name-face,
  markdown-html-tag-delimiter-face,
  markdown-html-attr-name-face, and
  markdown-html-attr-value-face. (GH-249)
  Font lock for HTML entities, with a new face
  markdown-html-entity-face.
  Scale down large inline images using markdown-max-image-size,
  a cons cell of the form (max-width . max-height).
  Added read-only viewing modes markdown-view-mode and
  gfm-view-mode with keymaps similar to view-mode and
  help-mode. (GH-296)
  Optionally add footnote definitions to the end of the imenu
  index using markdown-add-footnotes-to-imenu. (GH-235)
  Add custom variables markdown-xhtml-body-preamble and
  markdown-xhtml-body-epilogue for wrapping additional XHTML
  tags around the output. (GH-280, GH-281)
  Add markdown-unused-refs command to list and clean up unused
  references (available via C-c C-c u). (GH-322)
  Add markdown-insert-table (C-c C-s t) for interactive
  table insertion. (GH-369)
  Add markdown-kill-outline and markdown-kill-block functions.
  Added markdown-display-remote-images for viewing remote
  images. Thanks to Sean Allread for the patch. (GH-378)
  markdown-back-to-heading can be used as command (GH-415)

(upstream)
# fs 1.5.0
----------

* The libuv release used by fs was updated to 1.38.1

* `dir_create()` now consults the process umask so the mode during
  directory creation works like `mkdir` does (#284).

* `fs_path`, `fs_bytes` and `fs_perms` objects are now compatible with vctrs 0.3.0 (#266)

* `fs_path` objects now sort properly when there is a mix of ASCII and
  unicode elements (#279)

# fs 1.4.2
----------
* `file_info(..., follow = TRUE)`, `is_dir()`, and `is_file()`
  follow relative symlinks in non-current directories (@heavywatal, #280)

* `dir_map()` now grows its internal list safely, the 1.4.0 release
  introduced an unsafe regression (#268)

* `file_info()` returns a tibble if the tibble package is installed,
  and subsets work when it is a `data.frame` (#265)

* `path_real()` always fails if the file does not exist. Thus it can no longer
  be used to resolve symlinks further up the path hierarchy for files that do not
  yet exist. This reverts the feature introduced in 1.2.7 (#144, #221, #231)

# fs 1.4.1
----------
* Fix compilation on Solaris.

# fs 1.4.0
----------
* `[[.fs_path`, `[[.fs_bytes` and `[[.fs_perms` now preserve their
  classes after subsetting (#254).

* `path_has_parent()` now recycles both the `path` and `parent` arguments (#253).
* `path_ext_set()` now recycles both the `path` and `ext` arguments (#250).
* Internally fs no longer depends on Rcpp

# fs 1.3.2
----------
* fs now passes along `CPPFLAGS` during compilation of libuv, fixing an issue that could
  prevent compilation from source on macOS Catalina. (@kevinushey, #229)

* fs now compiles on alpine linux (#210)

* `dir_create()` now works with absolute paths and `recurse = FALSE` (#204).

* `dir_tree()` now works with paths that need tilde expansion (@dmurdoch, @jennybc, #203).

* `file_info()` now returns file sizes with the proper classes
  ("fs_bytes" and "numeric"), rather than just "fs_bytes" (#239)

* `get_dirent_type()` gains a `fail` argument (@bellma-lilly, #219)

* `Is_Dir()`, `is_file()`, `is_file_empty()` and `file_info()` gain a
  `follow` argument, to follow links and return information about the
  linked file rather than the link itself (#198)

* `path()` now follows "tidy" recycling rules, namely only consistent
  or length 1 inputs are recycled. (#238)

* `path()` now errors if the path given or constructed will exceed `PATH_MAX` (#233).

* `path_ext_set()` now works with multiple paths (@maurolepore, #208).

# htmltools 0.5.2

## Breaking Changes

* Closed #205: When calling `tagGetAttribute(x)` on an object with a
  non-atomic attribute, a list of untouched values will be
  returned. It is still recommended to only store character values
  inside attributes. (#212)

## New Features & Improvements

* `{htmltools}` now has its own `{pkgdown}` site hosted at
  <https://rstudio.github.io/htmltools/>.

* The new `tagQuery()` function provides a
  [jQuery](https://jquery.com/) inspired interface to query and/or
  modify HTML `tag()` (e.g., `div()`) or `tagList()` objects. To learn
  more, see the [{pkgdown}
  article](https://rstudio.github.io/htmltools/articles/tagQuery.html). (#208)

* Added `tagAddRenderHook()` for delaying modification of a tag object
  until it is rendered. A list of render-time hooks may also be added
  via the new `.renderHook` argument added to all `tag()`
  functions. (#215)

* Closed #243: Added `withTags(.noWS)` to change the default
  whitespace behavior for all tags within the call to
  `withTags()`. (#245)

* Closed #251: Added `.cssSelector` parameters to tag modifying
  functions such as `tagAppendChildren()` or
  `tagAppendChildren()`. The `.cssSelector` allows you to target
  particular (inner) tags of interest. See `tagAppendChildren()` for
  examples. (#224)

* Closed #225: Added `tagInsertChildren()` to be able to insert child
  tag objects at a particular location. (#224)

## Bug Fixes

* When retrieving a tag attribute using `tagGetAttribute(tag, attr)`,
  `NA` values will be removed before combining remaining attribute
  values. If all attribute values are `NA`, then a single `NA` value
  will be returned. (#212)

* Closed #197: Fixed rendering of boolean attributes in `<script>`
  tags rendered via `renderDependencies()` (#197, thanks @atusy).

* Closed #222: Unnamed attributes are no longer allowed to be appended
  via `tagAppendAttribs()`. When trying to print unnamed tag attribs,
  a better error message is provided. (#229)

### Added

* CLI: The `--fix` flag has been added, allowing users to attempt to
  automatically upgrade any vulnerable dependencies to the first safe version
  available ([#212](pypa/pip-audit#212),
  [#222](pypa/pip-audit#222))

* CLI: The combination of `--fix` and `--dry-run` is now supported, causing
  `pip-audit` to perform the auditing step but not any resulting fix steps
  ([#223](pypa/pip-audit#223))

* CLI: The `--require-hashes` flag has been added which can be used in
  conjunction with `-r` to check that all requirements in the file have an
  associated hash ([#229](pypa/pip-audit#229))

* CLI: The `--index-url` flag has been added, allowing users to use custom
  package indices when running with the `-r` flag
  ([#238](pypa/pip-audit#238))

* CLI: The `--extra-index-url` flag has been added, allowing users to use
  multiple package indices when running with the `-r` flag
  ([#238](pypa/pip-audit#238))

### Changed

* `pip-audit`'s minimum Python version is now 3.7.

* CLI: The default output format is now correctly pluralized
  ([#221](pypa/pip-audit#221))

* Output formats: The SBOM output formats (`--format=cyclonedx-xml` and
  `--format=cyclonedx-json`) now use CycloneDX
  [Schema 1.4](https://cyclonedx.org/docs/1.4/xml/)
  ([#216](pypa/pip-audit#216))

* Vulnerability sources: When using PyPI as a vulnerability service, any hashes
  provided in a requirements file are checked against those reported by PyPI
  ([#229](pypa/pip-audit#229))

* Vulnerability sources: `pip-audit` now uniques each result based on its
  alias set, reducing the amount of duplicate information in the default
  columnar output format
  ([#232](pypa/pip-audit#232))

* CLI: `pip-audit` now prints its output more frequently, including when
  there are no discovered vulnerabilities but packages were skipped.
  Similarly, "manifest" output formats (JSON, CycloneDX) are now emitted
  unconditionally
  ([#240](pypa/pip-audit#240))

### Fixed

* CLI: A regression causing excess output during `pip audit -r`
  was fixed ([#226](pypa/pip-audit#226))

# cpp11 0.4.2

* Romain François is now the maintainer.

# cpp11 0.4.1

* Fix crash related to unwind protect optimization (#244)

# cpp11 0.4.0

## New Features

* New opt-in message formatting with the {fmt} C++ library for
  `cpp11::messages()` `cpp11::stop()` and `cpp11::warning()`.  Set the
  `CPP11_USE_FMT` macro to use this feature in your
  package. (@sbearrows, #169, #208)

* New `as_double()` and `as_integer()` methods to coerce integers to
  doubles and doubles to integers to doubles (@sbearrows, #46)

* `cpp11::matrix` iterators can now be used either row-wise or
  column-wise (the default) depending on the user's choice (@alyst,
  #229)

## Improvements and fixes

* Read-only matrix accessors are now marked const (#234)

* `writable::r_vector` default constructors now return a 0 length
  vector when converted to `SEXP` (#166)

* Read-only `r_vector` constructors now disallow implicit construction
  with named arguments (#237)

* Read-only `r_vector.attr()` methods now return const objects, so it
  is a compile time error to try to assign to them (#237)

* Fixed `+` and `+=` operators of `r_vector::[const_]iterator` to
  conform the *iterators* concept: `+=` updates the iterator, and `+`
  returns the updated copy, while keeping the original unchanged
  (@alyst, #231)

* Remove undefined behavior when constructing global `cpp11::sexp`s (#224)

* Removed redundant `.Call calls` in cpp11.cpp file (@sbearrows, #170)

* Error messages now output original file name rather than the
  temporary file name (@sbearrows, #194)

* `cpp_register()` now includes `attribute_visible` in the init
  function, so packages compiled with `C_VISIBILITY` will find the
  init function.

* Fixed bug when running `cpp_source()` on the same file more than
  once (@sbearrows, #202)

* Allow cpp11 decorators of the form `cpp11::linking_to` (@sbearrows,
  #193)

* Removed internal instances of `cpp11::stop()` and replaced with C++
  exceptions (@sbearrows, #203)

* Names of named lists are now resized along with the list elements
  (@sbearrows, #206)

fping 5.0 (2020-08-05)
======================

## Incompatible Changes

- In non-quiet loop and count mode, a line is printed for every lost packet
  (#175, thanks @kbucheli):

  ```
  $ fping -D -c2 8.8.8.8 8.8.8.7
  [1596092373.18423] 8.8.8.8 : [0], 64 bytes, 12.8 ms (12.8 avg, 0% loss)
  [1596092374.18223] 8.8.8.7 : [0], timed out (NaN avg, 100% loss)
  [1596092374.18424] 8.8.8.8 : [1], 64 bytes, 12.3 ms (12.5 avg, 0% loss)
  [1596092375.18344] 8.8.8.7 : [1], timed out (NaN avg, 100% loss)
  8.8.8.8 : xmt/rcv/%loss = 2/2/0%, min/avg/max = 12.3/12.5/12.8
  8.8.8.7 : xmt/rcv/%loss = 2/0/100%
  ```

- The returned size in bytes now always excludes the IP header, so if before it
  reported '84 bytes' e.g. when using 'fping -l', now it reports '64 bytes'.
  This is to make the reported size consistent with ping(8) from iputils and
  also with fping when pinging a IPv6 host (which never included the IPv6
  header size).

## New features

- The number of sent pings is only counted when the pings are received or have
  timed out, ensuring that the loss ratio will be always correct. This makes it
  possible, for example, to use loop mode (-l) with interval statistics (-Q)
  and a timeout larger than period, without having the issue that initially
  some pings would be reported as missing (#193)

- Improved precision of measurements from 10us to 1us (#136, thanks @tycho)

## Bugfixes and other changes

- The reported size of received packets is now always correct on Linux even for
  packets > 4096 bytes (#180)

- Travis CI automated testing now also macos testing and additional ubuntu
  distributions (#196)

* New `tidyselect_data_proxy()` and `tidyselect_data_has_predicates()`
  allows tidyselect to work with custom input types (#242).

* New `eval_relocate()` for moving a selection. This powers `dplyr::relocate()`
  (#232).

## Lifecycle changes

* Using `all_of()` outside of a tidyselect context is now deprecated (#269).
  In the future it will error to be consistent with `any_of()`.

* Use of `.data` in tidyselect expressions is now deprecated to more cleanly
  separate tidy-select from data-masking. Replace `.data$x` with `"x"` and
  `.data[[var]]` with `any_of(var)` or `all_of(var)` (#169).

* Use of bare predicates (not wrapped in `where()`) and indirection (without
  using `all_of()`) have been formally deprecated (#317).

## Minor improvements and bug fixes

* Selection language:

  * `any_of()` generates a more informative error if you supply too many
    arguments (#241).

  * `all_of()` (like `any_of()`) returns an integer vector to make it easier
    to combine in functions (#270, #294). It also fails when it can't find
    variables even when `strict = FALSE`.

  * `matches()` recognises and correctly uses stringr pattern objects
    (`stringr::regex()`, `stringr::fixed()`, etc) (#238). It also now
    works with named vectors (#250).

  * `num_range()` gains a `suffix` argument (#229).

  * `where()` is now exported, like all other select helpers (#201),
    and gives more informative errors (#236).

* `eval_select()` with `include` now preserves the order of the variables
  if they're present in the selection (#224).

* `eval_select()` always returns a named vector, even when renaming is not
  permitted (#220).

* `eval_select()` and `eval_relocate()` gain new `allow_empty` argument which
  makes it possible to forbid empty selections with `allow_empty = FALSE` (#252).

* `eval_select(allow_rename = FALSE)` no longer fails with empty
  selections (#221, @eutwt) or with predicate functions (#225). It now properly
  fails with partial renaming (#305).

* `peek_var()` error now generates hyperlink to docs with recent RStudio (#289).

* `vars_pull()` generates more informative error messages (#234, #258, #318)
  and gains `error_call` and `error_arg` arguments.

* Errors produced by tidyselect should now be more informative. Evaluation
  errors are now chained, with the child error call is set to the `error_call`
  argument of `eval_select()` and `eval_rename()`. We've also improved
  backtraces of base errors, and done better at propagating the root
  `error_call` to vctrs input checkers.

* `tidyselect_verbosity` is no longer used; deprecation messaging is now
  controlled by `lifecycle_verbosity` like all other packages (#317).

    #363

v3.20210903.1

Allow running under XWayland

  * Revert XWayland detection. Some parts of xdotool do not work under
    XWayland. However,
    many features do work on XWayland, and rejecting XWayland caused problems
    for several

1.12.1 - Andreas Abel, 2023-04-03
* Add print_commands_with and echoWith which can be used to override the
  default printing functions (e.g. to add color). (Chris Wendt, PR #228.)
* Tested with GHC 8.2 - 9.6 (cabal) and GHC 8.10 - 9.6 (stack).

1.12.0.1 - Andreas Abel, 2023-04-02
* Make show_command more robust to special characters and only quote when
  necessary. (Chris Wendt, PR #229.)
* Tested with GHC 8.2 - 9.6 (cabal) and GHC 8.10 - 9.6 (stack).

1.12.0 - Andreas Abel, 2023-02-27
* Rework ShellCmd and ShellCommand instances to support String arguments:
  Issue #143 fixed by Cunning Defenstrator in PR #221.

  This involves a breaking change in classes CmdArg and ShellArg: Method
  toTextArg has been replaced by toTextArgs.

  Sample migration:

    #if MIN_VERSION_shelly(1,12,0)
    -- new
    import Shelly (toTextArgs)
    snoc opts arg = opts ++ toTextArgs arg
    #else
    -- old
    import Shelly (toTextArg)
    snoc opts arg = opts ++ [ toTextArg arg ]
    #endif

* Dropped GHC 8.0 to get rid of deprecated LANGUAGE IncoherentInstances.
* Builds with GHC 8.2 - 9.6.

1.11.0 - Andreas Abel, 2023-01-24
* Restore running of local scripts, e.g. cmd "./foo.sh": Issue #107 fixed
  by Alfredo di Napoli in PR #216.
* Builds with GHC 8.0 - 9.4.

1.10.0.1 - Andreas Abel, 2023-01-24
* Allow unix-compat-0.6.
* Builds -Wall warning-free with GHC 8.0 - 9.4.

texmath (0.12.8.4)
  * TeX reader: ignore `\allowbreak` (#230).
  * TeX reader: handle `*{5}{lr}` in array column specifier (#229).
  * OMML reader: allow `m:e` to be missing in `m:nary` (#228).
    Technically this is not allowed, according to the spec, but
    Word and LibreOffice seem to tolerate it.

texmath (0.12.8.3)
  * OMML writer: use "on" and "off" instead of "1" and "0" for
    m:CT_OnOff type. It is said that "1" and "0" work in Word
    but not Powerpoint.

texmath (0.12.8.2)
  * Typst writer: use binom instead of a fraction (jgm/pandoc#9063).

texmath (0.12.8.1)
  * Typst writer: several fixes (#223, Lleu Yang).
    + Escape quotes (") in inQuotes
    + Accent `\8407` corresponds to `arrow()`
    + Write `#none`'s for matrices with blanks at the beginning of a row

texmath (0.12.8)
  * Expose Text.TeXMath.Shared [API change]
  * Typst writer: Fix bug where 's' turned into 'space' (#219).
  * Typst writer: Fix handling of overline (#214).
  * Typst writer: Fix underbrace (#217).
  * Typst writer: Improve some accents (#216).
  * TeX writer: don't include \ on last line of matrix.
  * TeX writer: Remove escaping of spaces inside \text{}.
    It isn't needed, and it causes problems in MathJax rendering.
  * TeX reader: allow empty matrices.
  * MathML writer: Fix rendering of vectors (#218).
  * Depend on external typst-symbols package.

texmath (0.12.7.1)
 * Typst writer:
   + Improve under/overbrace/bracket/line.
   + Fix bugs with super/subscript grouping (#212).
   + Fix case where super/subscript is on an empty element,
     by inserting a zws.

texmath (0.12.7)
  * Add typst writer. New module: Text.TeXMath.Writers.Typst.
  * TeX reader: Support multilined environment. Closes #210.

# glue 1.7.0

* If rlang is installed, glue will generate more informative errors if an
  interpolated expression either can't be parsed or fails to evaluate (#229).

* `+` now works in more situations, and gives errors when one side isn't a
  character vector. It no longer automatically applies glue interpolation to
  a non-glue input, if there is one. You'll need to do that yourself (#286).

* `glue_collapse(character())` (and hence `glue_sql_collapse(character())`) now
  return `""`, so that they always return a single string (#88).

* `glue_sql()` now collapses an empty vector to `""` not `"NULL"` (#272).

* `glue_sql()` now uses `DBI::dbQuoteLiteral()` for all object types. This
  should increase fidelity of escaping for different object types (#279).

* The "Speed of glue" vignette has been converted to an article, which allows
  several package to be removed from `Suggests` (and re-located to
  `Config/Needs/website`). The code got a light refresh, including a switch
  from microbenchmark to bench and more modern use of ggplot2.

* Add `$(C_VISIBILITY)` to compiler flags to hide internal symbols from the dll (#284 @lionel-).

## [2.0.0] 2022-11-06

### Removed
- `stg clone` is removed. Use `git clone` and `stg init` instead.
- `stg mail` is replaced with `stg email format` and `stg email send`.
- `stg refresh --spill` is replaced with dedicated `stg spill` command.
- `stg edit` no longer accepts `-O/--diff-opts`. Custom diff options is
  in conflict with editable diffs since many (most?) diff options cause
  the diff to no long be applicable.
- `stg files` no longer accepts `-O/--diff-opts`. This option was of
  marginal value since it only had a possible side effect when `--stat`
  was being used.

### Added
- `stg id` now accepts the `-b/--branch` option.
- `stg completion` command provides runtime support for shell
  completions.
- `stg completion bash` generates bash shell completion script.
- `stg completion fish` generates fish shell completion script.
- `stg completion zsh` outputs zsh shell completion script.
- `stg completion list` shows StGit commands and aliases and is used at
  completion-time by shell completion scripts.
- `stg completion man` generates man pages in asciidoc format.
- `stg email format` wraps `git format-patch` and provides a mechanism
  to generate patch emails and optional cover letter in mbox format.
- `stg email send` wraps `git send-email` and allows sending patch
  emails, either from files generated by `stg email format` or by
  specifying patches directly.
- `stg new --refresh` allows a new patch to be refreshed with changes in
  one step. The `-i/--index`, `-F/--force`, `-s/--submodules`, and
  `--no-submodules` options from `stg refresh` are also available to
  `stg new` when using `-r/--refresh`.
- `stg series` gains the `-i/--commit-id` option to display patches'
  commit ids.
- `stg show` diff output can now be limited to certain paths by
  specifying path limits on the command line.
- `stg spill` replaces `stg refresh --spill`.
- `stg version` gains `-s/--short` flag to show shortened version info.
- Added documentation for patch range syntax to stg(1) man page.
- Added `install-all` target to top-level Makefile that installs the
  executable, man pages, html pages, and shell completions.

### Changed
- StGit is now implemented entirely in Rust instead of Python.
- StGit is generally much faster; many commands are up to 4x faster.
  There was an emphasis on making informational commands such as `stg
  id`, `stg series`, and `stg top` as fast as possible to make their use
  in interactive contexts (shell prompts, IDE extensions) more
  comfortable.
- StGit error messages have been updated; many have different, and
  hopefully better, wording. Error messages are also use color (when
  color is enabled). Scripts relying on exact error messages from StGit
  will need to be updated.
- StGit output to stdout is generally more terse. Commands that change
  the stack such as `push`, `pop`, and `commit`, use sigils to denote
  the changes made to the stack. E.g. `stg commit p0..p3` will output `$
  p0..p3` where the "$" sigil means that a patch, or patch range, has
  been committed. These are all the currently used stack change sigils:
  - `+` patch was pushed
  - `-` patch was popped
  - `>` patch became the current topmost patch
  - `&` patch was updated
  - `$` patch was committed
  - `#` patch was deleted
  - `@` patch was rolled-back
  - `!` patch was hidden
- StGit aliases are now more like Git aliases. Normal aliases refer to
  StGit subcommands, but aliases prefixed with '!' are shell aliases
  that may run arbitrary commands. An example normal alias would be `git
  config stgit.alias.list 'series --description --empty'`. An example
  shell alias would be `git config stgit.alias.st '!git status
  --short'`.
- Commands such as `stg goto`, `stg push`, and `stg pop` now require
  full/correct patch names on the command line and no longer accept
  unambiguous patch name prefixes. When an inexact patch name is
  provided on the command line, the error message will now suggest
  similar valid patch names.
- Additional template search paths were added. In addition to looking
  for template files in .git/, also look in
  `$XDG_CONFIG_HOME/stgit/templates/` and `$HOME/.stgit/templates`. This
  search strategy is consistent with how git looks for the global config
  file.
- The new `--signoff` patch edit option supersedes the deprecated
  `--sign` and `--sign-by` options. `--signoff` without its optional
  value does the same thing as `--sign`, while `--signoff=<value>` does
  the same thing as `--sign-by=<value>`.
- The `--ack` and `--review` patch edit options now optionally take a
  value. The `--ack-by` and `--review-by` options are deprecated.
- `stg branch` output is now generally less verbose.
- `stg branch --describe` replaces `stg branch --description`. The
  `--description` subcommand remains supported as a hidden alias to
  `--describe`, but the description string must now be provided as its
  own argument; i.e. `--description="description string"` is no longer
  supported.
- `stg branch --list` now produces colorized output. The `--color`
  option or `NO_COLOR` environment variable may be used to affect this
  behavior.
- `stg branch --rename` now supports renaming regular git branches in
  addition to StGit-enabled branches.
- `stg clean` now uses `-A` and `-U` short options for `--applied` and
  `--unapplied` instead of `-a` and `-u`. This is done for consistency
  with `stg series` and `stg show`.
- `stg import` now only recognizes compressed patches by their file
  extension (`.bz2` or `.gz`) and no longer proactively attempts to
  decompress using all known decompressors.
- `stg import` support for compressed input files is selectable at
  compile time using the `import-compressed` feature.
- `stg import` support for importing from a URL is selectable at compile
  time using the `import-url` feature. **N.B.** there is a measurable
  runtime performance impact of building with `import-url` due to the
  unconditional, pre-main initialization of `curl` which affects **all**
  `stg` commands.
- `stg log` now colorizes output by default. The `--color` option or
  `NO_COLOR` environment variable may be used to affect this behavior.
- `stgit.new.verbose` changed to `stgit.edit.verbose` and now also
  affects edit behavior for `edit`, `refresh`, and `squash` along with
  `new`.
- `stg new` now accepts `-e/--edit` and `-d/--diff` instead of
  `-v/--verbose`
- `stg pick` now allows a mix of commits and patches to be picked
  whereas previously only a single commit xor multiple patches could be
  picked.
- `stg pick` now performs a single stack transaction for all the picked
  patches/commits instead of one transaction per pick.
- `stg push` now attempts to perform three-way merges, which may improve
  conflict resolution in some cases. This feature is enabled by default
  when git >= 2.32.0 is detected.
- `stg rebase --interactive` the "squash" and "fixup" instructions may
  no longer be applied to the first patch in the instruction list. The
  stated semantics of both "squash" and "fixup" is that they squash the
  labeled patch with the preceding patch, which is not possible/valid
  when there is no preceding patch.
- `stg refresh` no longer has a `--spill` flag. Use `stg spill` instead.
- `stg series` has updated colorized output.
- `stg series` now requires patch range arguments to be both in-order
  and contiguous. Constraining patch ranges in this manner ensures that
  the output from `stg series` is always a valid/correct view of a
  subset of the series.
- `stg show` diff output respects the `--color` option.
- `stg squash` now allows the full suite of patch edit options,
  including `-d/--diff`. Previously only a few message-related options
  were available.
- `stg version` now displays copyright and license statements.

### Fixed

- `stg branch --create` inherits the current branch's remote branch
  configuration, if available. The Python implementation had an apparent
  bug that prevented inheriting the remote branch configuration when
  creating from the current branch.
- Avoid case insensitive patch name collisions. On operating systems
  with case-insensitive paths, patch names that only differ by case lead
  to patch reference collisions. StGit now ensures that patch names are
  distinct under case insensitive comparisons.
- `stg pull` and `stg rebase` record updated stack state instead of
  deferring until the next stack-modifying command to do so.

- fix: Do not use 3way for merged checks

## [2.0.0-rc.2] 2022-10-23

### Changed
- The `--diff-opts` option is renamed to `--diff-opt`. `--diff-opts`
  remains available as an alias.
- The `--diff-opt` option no longer allows multiple git options per
  occurrence. This allows git diff options with spaces in their values.
- The `--git-opts` option for `stg email format` and `stg email send` is
  renamed `--git-opt`.
- The `--git-opt` option no longer allows multiple git options per
  occurrence. This allows git options with spaces in their values.
- Zsh completion for `--diff-opt` and `--git-opt` leverage the
  full-featured git completion capability.

### Fixed
- Repair check for modifications to stack by external tools.
- `stg pull` and `stg rebase` record updated stack state instead of
  deferring until the next stack-modifying command to do so.

- Added `-p`/`--patch` option to `stg show` as alternative way to select patch
  ranges (#216).
- Added `-n`/`--name` option to `stg new` as alternative way to specify new
  patch name (#216).

### Changed
- Update `git2` to 0.15.0, which may further help compatibility with
  sparse checkouts and multiple worktrees (#195).
- Update to `clap` 4.0, which changes the help formatting and coloring.
- Update other dependencies to latest versions in Cargo.lock.
- No longer depend on `lazy_static` crate.
- Use `std::thread::scope` instead of custom mechanism. This brings the
  total number of uses of `unsafe` in StGit to zero.
- Minimum rustc requirement is set to 1.63.0.
- The '$' sigil used for committed patches is now yellow instead of
  white.
- Patch names beginning with a hyphen '-' may be disambiguated from command
  line options by escaping the leading '-' with a backslash.
- `stg email format` and `stg email send` now use `-G`/`--git-opts` to pass
  additional options to `git format-patch` and `git send-email`.
- Patch name arguments to `stg email format` and `stg email-send` can now be
  placed after a `--` separator (#216).
- Update top-level usage help for `stg`.

### Fixed
- Various errors that may occur when executing a stack transaction are
  now handled more robustly such that the changes from the transaction
  are rolled-back so that the stack, repository, and worktree are all in
  a consistent state (#205).
- The `stg uncommit -h` usage indentation is repaired.
- The `stg float` usage now shows the two distinct usage modes.
- `stg squash --name` allows patch names with leading '-'.
- `stg diff --range` allows patch names and ranges with leading '-'.
- Fix some pre-indented paragraphs in help/about strings.
- Zsh completion for `stg edit` incorrectly included -O/--diff-opts.
- Zsh completion for `stg files` incorrectly included -O/--diff-opts.

## [2.0.0-beta.3] 2022-08-28

  operations to improve compatibility with sparse index checkouts
  (#195).
- Show commit hash in `stg version` output when not built from tag.
- Use `cargo --locked` consistently in Makefiles.

  limits.

## [2.0.0-beta.1] 2022-07-28

### Removed
- Removed Python implementation of StGit.

### Added
- Man page generation in asciidoc format with `stg completion man`. This
  was needed for feature parity with the Python implementation.
- Added documentation for patch range syntax to stg(1) man page.
- Added `install-all` target to top-level Makefile that installs the
  executable, man pages, html pages, and shell completions.

### Changed
- Additional template search paths were added. In addition to looking
  for template files in .git/, also look in
  `$XDG_CONFIG_HOME/stgit/templates/` and `$HOME/.stgit/templates`. This
  search strategy is consistent with how git looks for the global config
  file.
- Makefile targets are updated such that they are all applicable to the
  Rust implementation.
- Argument value names are now all lowercase in help and man pages.
- Updated Cargo.lock with latest versions of dependencies.
- Release checklist is updated for Rust implementation.

### Fixed
- Minor typo fixes in help strings
- Improved documentation for top-level `stg` options.
- Improve error message in edge case of attempting to push a hidden
  patch by name when there are no unapplied patches.

## [2.0.0-alpha.2] 2022-07-07

### Added
- `stg email format` wraps `git format-patch` and provides a mechanism
  to generate patch emails and optional cover letter in mbox format.
- `stg email send` wraps `git send-email` and allows sending patch
  emails, either from files generated by `stg email format` or by
  specifying patches directly.

### Changed
- Bash completions for shell aliases now fallback to filename
  completions (#191).
- Help options listings now ensure --color and --help are shown last.
- Various zsh completion improvements:
  - Add descriptions for --color values
  - Complete -O/--diff-opts values (using `git diff-tree --git-completion-helper`)
  - Comprehend `stg -C <dir>` options
  - Improved/corrected alias expansion
  - Improved error messages when completion is attempted outside git
    repo and/or StGit-initialized branch
  - Patch name completions now look and feel like output from `stg
    series`
  - Complete patch range syntax ('patch0..patchN') for all relevant
    commands
  - Completion for `stg squash` no longer allows duplicate patch name
    arguments
  - Removed completions for removed `stg mail` command
  - Completion for `stg sink` no longer offers hidden patches
  - Completion for `stg rename` comprehends second, new patch name
    argument
  - Completion for `stg diff --range` now works

### Fixed
- Compatibility with git versions prior to 2.35.0 is repaired by
  avoiding using `git apply --allow-empty` (#192).
- Fish completions for -O/--diff-opts are repaired

## [2.0.0-alpha.1] 2022-06-17

### Added
- `stg series` gains the `-i/--commit-id` option to display patches'
  commit ids.
- `stg series` colorized output is modified. The main change is that
  patch descriptions are no longer yellow.
- `stg version` now displays copyright and license statements.
- `stg version` gains `-s/--short` flag to show shortened version info.
- The `stgit.diff-opts` configuration variable is now respected as it
  was in the Python implementation.
- `stg completion` command provides runtime support for shell completions.
- `stg completion bash` generates bash shell completion script.
- `stg completion fish` generates fish shell completion script.
- `stg completion zsh` outputs zsh shell completion script.
- `stg completion list` shows StGit commands and aliases and is used at
  completion-time by shell completion scripts.

### Changed
- The `-O/--diff-opts` flag now allows both multiple space separated
  opts in one value as well as multiple occurrences of `-O/--diff-opts`
  on the same command line. This behavior is compatible with the Python
  implementation.
- `stg series` help output splits options into a few sections.
- Dependencies are updated to more recent versions in Cargo.lock.

### Fixed
- `stg edit --set-tree` no longer causes the interactive editor to be
  implicitly invoked.
- Repair build for non-Linux unix targets (including MacOS) and Windows
  targets.
- Avoid case insensitive patch name collisions. On operating systems
  with case-insensitive paths, patch names that only differ by case lead
  to patch reference collisions. StGit now ensures that patch names are
  distinct under case insensitive comparisons.
- Add missing `-t` short option for `--set-tree` for `stg edit`.
- Add missing `-k` short option for `--keep`.

## [2.0.0-alpha.0] 2022-05-17

### Removed
- `stg edit` no longer accepts `-O/--diff-opts`. Custom diff options is
  in conflict with editable diffs since many (most?) diff options cause
  the diff to no long be applicable.
- `stg files` no longer accepts `-O/--diff-opts`. This option was of
  marginal value since it only had a possible side effect when `--stat`
  was being used.
- `stg clone` is removed (at least for the time being). Use `git clone`
  and `stg init` instead.
- `stg mail` is removed, but will be re-added or replaced prior to the
  2.0.0 release.

### Added
- `stg new --refresh` allows a new patch to be refreshed with changes in
  one step. The `-i/--index`, `-F/--force`, `-s/--submodules`, and
  `--no-submodules` options from `stg refresh` are also available to
  `stg new`.
- `stg id` now accepts the `-b/--branch` option.
- `stg spill` replaces `stg refresh --spill`.

### Changed
- StGit aliases are now more like Git aliases. Normal aliases refer to
  StGit subcommands, but aliases prefixed with '!' are shell aliases
  that may run arbitrary commands. An example normal alias would be
  `git config stgit.alias.list 'series --description --empty'`. An
  example shell alias would be `git config stgit.alias.st '!git status
  --short'`.
- The `--ack` and `--review` options now optionally take a value. The
  `--ack-by` and `--review-by` options are deprecated.
- Commands such as `stg goto`, `stg push`, and `stg pop` now require
  full/correct patch names on the command line and no longer accept
  unambiguous patch name prefixes. When an inexact patch name is
  provided on the command line, the error message will now indicate
  similar valid patch names.
- `stg import` now only recognizes compressed patches by their file
  extension (`.bz2` or `.gz`) and no longer attempts to decompress using
  all known decompressors.
- `stg import` support for compressed input files is selectable at
   compile time using the `import-compressed` feature.
- `stg import` support for importing from a URL is selectable at compile
  time using the `import-url` feature.
- `stg log` now colorizes output by default. The `--color` option or
  `NO_COLOR` environment variable may be used to affect this behavior.
- `stgit.new.verbose` changed to `stgit.edit.verbose` and now affects edit
  behavior for `edit`, `refresh`, and `squash` along with `new`.
- `stg new` now accepts `-e/--edit` and `-d/--diff` instead of `-v/--verbose`
- `stg pick` now allows a mix of commits and patches to be picked
  whereas previously only a single commit xor multiple patches could be
  picked.
- `stg pick` now performs a single stack transaction for all the picked
  patches/commits instead of one transaction per pick.
- `stg refresh` no longer has the `--spill` flag. Use `stg spill`
  instead.
- Updated colorized output for `stg series`.
- `stg series` now requires patch range arguments to be both in-order
  and contiguous. Constraining patch ranges in this manner ensures that
  the output from `stg series` is always a valid/correct view of a
  subset of the series.
- `stg show` diff can now be limited to certain paths by specifying path
  limits on the command line.
- `stg show` diff output respects the `--color` option.
- The new `--signoff` patch edit option supersedes the deprecated
  `--sign` and `--sign-by` options. `--signoff` without its optional
  value does the same thing as `--sign`, while `--signoff=<value>` does
  the same thing as `--sign-by=<value>`.
- `stg squash` now allows the full suite of patch edit options,
  including `-d/--diff`. Previously only a few message-related options
  were available.

### Fixed
- `stg branch --create` inherits the current branch's remote branch
  configuration, if available. The Python implementation had an apparent
  bug that prevented inheriting the remote branch configuration when
  creating from the current branch.

  `--ack-by`, and `--review-by` options which allow those respective
  trailers' values to be specified by the user on the command line (#92)

### Changed
- Stack metadata version 5; stack metadata is moved from
  `refs/heads/<branch>.stgit` to `refs/stacks/<branch>` and the stack
  metadata file now uses a JSON format instead of the prior custom
