Many of the “MSW composting .*” processes have a negative “Energy, unspecified” flow (i.e., a positive input) based on a diesel_consumption_operation_foodwaste parameter. This may represents all other energy consumption, aside from compost pile turning (specified as a separate input and typically 0-valued for food wastes).
For “MSW recycling of Personal Computers”, the negative “Energy, unspecified” flow is again an input, scaled by a demanufacturing_energy parameter that represents process energy for shredding.
For “MSW recycling of Tires”, the negative “GHGs, unspecified” are derived from the following formula: -1*(recovered_material * weighted_offset_energy + weighted_steel_recovery_benefit).
