libsass, which libsass-python is based on, was deprecated 26 October 2020. The sass-people recommend "Dart Sass", which has linux packages at https://github.com/sass/dart-sass/releases/. See also:

Alternatives:

https://github.com/Kronuz/pyScss
https://github.com/dumdoo/py-dart-sass (probably too new)

Most others are wrappers around the deprecated c-library.
