how to use microphone

I am playing the japanese version of the zelda spirit tracks currently stuck in the place where the microphone function is necessary.
I have two questions for anyone to answer.

1. looks like nothing happens even when i turn on the enable mic switch. how do i actually use this function?
2. i have found the fake mic blow R button and L button cheat code from the old log but it won’t work with jp version. does anyone know how to find out or even create certain cheat codes for a specific game title?
