Don't get your hopes up. If this feature does appear, it will be paid. This company/developer does not produce FLOSS software. I'm following the topic and waiting for one company to release an open source plugin with the ability to connect to a self-hosted server. I hope it will be successful - then I'll grab a coffee and watch as the number of downloads of all paid calendar plugins goes down along with the $$
