Automate maintaining releases in GitHub

We should automate the releases as published in github. As requested in #20 releases should be published in Github, but because this is a manual process it may sometimes be forgotten.

It's very strange that the releases are still not being recorded here given how common it is to get on Github to check the detailed changes. It would be nice to have a self-contained changelog also
