At some point in the future it would be nice to have shared sessions between devices, to either listen to music at the same time, control music that is playing on another device or just to continue listening at the same position on another device.

Possibly one could have multiple sessions, that can be shared with selected or all users.

I think this could be implemented using websockets.

This is something I thought about before too. I think it would be valuable but I don't see it happening soon for a few reasons:

  • It's lower priority than a few other comparably large tasks (semantic browsing, transcoding and finishing the flutter client)
  • I'm not 100% sure it fits the minimalist Polaris vision. It might with the right UX and API.

Agreed, this was more to get the idea out of my system.
