Reproducable using the demo here: http://ui-grid.info/docs/#/tutorial/121_grid_menu

  1. Hide the rightmost column
  2. Try to use the new rightmost column menu.

Workaround would be to wrap https://github.com/angular-ui/ng-grid/blob/master/src/js/core/directives/ui-grid-header-cell.js#L210
In a $timeout
Tested and it works. Any objections to fixing it this way?
