One way to make fewer calculations is to increase grid point size, which is being done in #8.

Another problem is that aggregation to hourly and daily is always done for the whole time series, not just the new values. As a result, as time goes by and time series are getting longer, aggregation takes longer and longer. Right now it's at 15 minutes for ten-minute to hourly and 3 minutes for hourly to daily.
