Describe the problem

the other bug report for this same issue got force-closed due to "heatedness".

I'm reporting it again now, because that "heat" is a critical indicator of just how many people are angry that the serial monitor got moved from a window to a fixed panel. Crazy new features like this should not be introduced in a way the prevents the original superior implementation from still working!

To reproduce

open monitor

Expected behavior

new window

Arduino IDE version

2.1.0

Operating system

Windows

Operating system version

11 pro

Additional context

Fixing this should be a top priority

Issue checklist

  • I searched for previous reports in the issue tracker
  • I verified the problem still occurs when using the latest nightly build
  • My report contains all necessary details

You need to unlock #289 - that inappropriate lock is blocking your team from appreciating the problems this new "feature" has caused.

Like, for example (a new observation) - the inability to see the compile output and errors/warnings at the same time as the monitor, and the extreme waste of my screen real-estate by blocking me from moving it beside (instead of under) my code - monitors are WIDE, not HIGH 99.9% of the time, so having output below something is always bad.
