What is the difference of use Semantic Router vs a function call, is possible integrate both?

I think the idea of Semantic Router is pretty good, but today I'm experimenting with function calls in Lllama 3.1 and are working very good. I think that both approaches could be complementary, but I can't see how, just opening the discussion.
